How can I claim the Dividend Tax Credit (T3, Box 51)? I understand that this amount gets claimed on Line 40425 but I cannot find it on TurbobTax Online.

We're glad to guide you there.

In TurboTax Online, please follow the steps below:

  1. Sign In to your TurboTax account.
  2. After filling in your initial details, locate the left-side panel
  3. Click on the down-arrow beside the Income section.
  4. Again, Click on the T-slips down-arrow
  5. Click "T3 Mutual Fund/ Trust Income Allocations and Designations".
  6. Click on "Enter New T3 for- Your Name".
  7. In the first section, you'll find the "Dividend tax credit for eligible dividends and Box 51".
  8. Please fill in the details and proceed accordingly.

Further, you can rest assured that the Dividend Tax Credit is being calculated correctly and added to both T1 General Step 5 (formerly Schedule 1) and the Provincial tax form.

For example, when you enter amounts in Box 49 and Box 50, the amount for Box 51 will be calculated and applied correctly.
