I had entered employment expenses on my return, my common-law partner just got the slips from her employer, so we are moving them to hers, how do I remove them from mine?

I had gotten the necessary slips for my return, but now my girlfriend got hers. The platform doesn't seem to let me remove the expenses I had previously entered. Help please 🙂

T2202 is a required form, provided by your employer, to claim employment expenses. If you are an employee receiving a T4, you must declare these expenses in the Employment Expenses section.

If both of you have a T2202, each of you must claim employment expenses on your respective return.

In TurboTax Online, you will have to do it under Employment expenses (in Income section) and in TurboTax Desktop, you have to fil out a T777.

Hi Veronique, thank you for your reply.

When I was discussing with a tax expert from TurboTax over the phone, they suggested that only one person claim the office space as a business expense, or we split it 50/50.

Is that not the case?

We can't both claim the same amount since we're both using the exact same space to work from home.

Thank you in advance for your help.

@jeremy_usheroff  Yes, this information is accurate!

As you are both work from home employees, and if you both have a T2200, you can apply all the expenses on one of you or split them 50/50.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
