I paid for and went to several work related conventions last year. Can I claim the cost of those?

I'm not self employed, but the conventions were directly related to my profession and recommended by my employer. Where and how can I claim these expenses?

You would need a T2200 Declaration of Conditions of Employment signed by your employer to be able to claim this expense.  If you have a T2200, then you can claim the expenses as "other" in the Employment Expenses section.
