I used the online version for 2017 and now I use the locally installed version. Can I get the file from 2017 to get a headstart for 2018?

Unfortunately there is no way to export returns out of TurboTax Online. You can get PDF copies of your returns, but those can’t be opened in TurboTax CD/Download.
