Is a chamber of commerce membership a business expense?

Not self employed but work from a home based office. T2200 confirms I need to pay some expenses myself which I do, including a membership for a local Chamber of Commerce. Can I deduct same?

If your T2200 states you need to pay for this membership, then "Yes" you can claim it on the T777 Employment Expense form.

I would advise your employer clearly states on the T2200 this expense is required by them and necessary for your job, as CRA may question an expense of this type.
