For a car I bought in 2017 and make payments on, how do I enter the CCA? Is it the GST amount or the whole price of the car? Also is the entire amount for my 2017 taxes?

It was a used car bought at a dealership.

I am not sure what CCA means even, how do I know if I'm eligible for CCA?

Can you provide some more information, please? Here's a few questions that can help us advise you better on this.

  • Are you Self Employed or an Employee claiming motor vehicle expenses?
  • If "yes" to either of these, when did you start using the vehicle to earn income?
  • If you are an employee, are you required to use your vehicle for work? And do you have a signed T2200 from your employer?
  • If you are a Self-Employed business owner, are you a GST Registrant? And do you use your vehicle in the course of your business?
