Should I claim professional fees under income expenses or deductions?

I am self-employed.

Please see our TurboTax FAQ to review if the professional fees you are asking about are included under deductions: What types of legal fees can I claim as deductions on my tax return?

I'm referring dues I paid for membership in a union or professional association related to my employment. I added to this my employment expenses under my income section. Now I am now the deductions section and they are asking again for fees I paid related to membership dues for my employement. I.e., The same thing is being asked in 2 different places.

Should I include my professional membership dues under income expenses or under the deductions section?

Are you employed by someone else or are you self-employed? You would only include your union dues paid once.

I am self-employed, so I included the dues under the employment expenses.

I will leave that part of the deductions section blank then.
