The present software is applicable to 2016 reporting year. What about 2017, and future years? Do I have to purchase that year's software?

Yes, our software for 2016 tax returns only covers returns for 2016. The tax laws are revised by the CRA each year so TurboTax (and the other tax software providers) release new software for each tax year to cover the tax requirements for that tax year.

Perhaps you're asking about business taxes, which can have a variable year end? You can find more information about our latest release of TurboTax Business Incorporated for fiscal years ending November 1, 2016 to October 31, 2017 here: https://turbotax.intuit.ca/business-tax-software/catalogue.jsp
