What expenses are eligible in the "Travel" category for a self-employed individual ?

This includes the full cost of transportation (eg. airplanes, bus, train, rental car) and hotel accommodations, less any reimbursements. It also includes 50% of meals and entertainment, if not already claimed on the Meals and Entertainment screen. Expenses that fall under the 50% rule are meals and entertainment where you have a receipt or bill that identifies their cost separately.

If you attended a convention, don't include those expenses as “travel”. They should be entered under "Other Expenses", which is coming up. Expenses regarding your own motor vehicle should go on the motor vehicle expenses page.
