I am using the free version for 2016 and do not see anywhere to say I purchased a home in the profile section

When using TurboTax Free, click on Need some suggestions in the dialogue box under the heading Your Taxes.  Click on the drop down menu and select the appropriate situation.  Then select Home Buyers amount and click on Add selected to your return.  You will then be prompted to enter the details of the home buyers amount in the deductions section of your income tax return.
