Can a student claim the expense for buying a new laptop under tuition fees

Can you claim laptop buying expense to tuition or text book expense?

No. It's not a tuition expense, and the textbook/education credits are based on your months attended, not your any actual expenses. 

FYI: Only Nunavut has still has a textbook credit, and only some provinces still have an education credit. The Federal government no longer provides either.
