I retired in June and now pay for my own benefits. Just wondering if I can claim both the monthly premiums my husband and I now pay PLUS the overages -- ie if a chiropractor costs $50 and the benefits only cover $35 -- can I claim the $15 overage also -- or just the monthly premiums?
Yes to both parts of your question!!
You can claim any portion not paid/reimbursed by your Private Insurance, (including any deductible you may have paid), and the premiums you pay for the Private/Extended Medical & Dental plans.
