Can I split my pension income with my spouse who passed away in 2018?

I have pension income for 2018 and my spouse passed away in March of 2018.  I understand that I am still able to split my pension income with my spouse in 2018 but am unable to prepare a joint tax return in TurboTax.  How should I do this?

Sorry for your loss. Pension splitting can be performed in the year of death, however, it is a pro-rated calculation based upon the date of death. In your case, three months would apply.

Some information from TurboTax regarding pension splitting can be found in this link: https://bit.ly/2XMT2le
