Can you claim annual membership fees for the Retired Teachers of Ontario?

Membership in the Retired Teachers of Ontario organization provides access to favourable fees for medical, dental , insurance coverage, etc. and the organization operates as the official representative of teacher retirees re: negotiations with Government of Ontario with regard to pension plan operational procedures.

No you cannot.

My wife is a member of RTO and we have their Medical and Dental plans.

You can claim your Ontario College of Teachers dues ( if you are still paying them).

You can claim RTO ( Johnson Insurance) Medical plan premiums as part of Medical credit.

But you cannot claim the RTO membership fee as it is not a Medical premium, nor required in order to perform a job or profession.
