Do I need to have tax withheld on pension income from USA?

I am a Canadian citizen and I live in Canada. I no longer have any residential ties to the USA. This is a pension from when I worked in California.

Canada does not withhold tax on your pension received from the U.S.  However, you are required to report the income on your Canadian income tax return.  You can then claim a foreign tax credit by completing form T2209.  For more information about the foreign tax credit, please see the following link:  https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-re...
