Your retirement pension benefits are reported on totally different tax slips than your Government Pensions. Although these are all T4A slips, you must enter them on the T4A slip that corresponds to the type of pension they are. And you only need to match the box numbers to boxes on the screen in TurboTax.

For instance -

  • Old Age Security (OAS) is reported on the T4A(OAS) page.
  • Canada Pension Plan (CPP) is reported on the T4A(P) page.
  • Other pensions are reported on the T4A page. The income from these will be in Box 16

I'm trying to fill in my Turbo tax form. I can only choose either my CPP amount or my OAS amount, but not both. I have to choose both, how can I do this? Is the software I have malfunctioning? To choose two items from the list of income items do I need to do a Ctrl -Enter?
