Do the contributions my employer made to my rrsp account 'help' my tax position?

If your employer contributes to your Register Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) on your behalf or "matches" the contributions that are withheld from your pay, you will get an RRSP Contribution Receipt issued in your name which will be deducted from your total income on Line 20800 of your tax return. This will reduce your Net and Taxable Income and result in less "tax payable".
