Does RRSP spousal contribution have to be issued in their name? I have purchased more RRSP than am allowed in my limit? Can I just allocate to my spouse on our return?

my RRSP limit was 14705, and I have almost 30K RRSP slips, can I just put some of them in my husbands profile?  he has lots of room.

You are unable to put any RRSP's in your husband's name or profile, regardless of how much room he has available. Whether you contribute to your own RRSP, a spousal RRSP or both, you cannot put in more than your own contribution limit. Your spouse’s contribution limit is not affected by a spousal RRSP.

You must have an official receipt that names you as the "Contributor" and your spouse as the "Annuitant". All contributions are entered on the Contributor's tax return and are limited to and reduce the Contributor's limit.
