For foreign nonbusiness income that isn't on a T-slip (including US Social Insurance), do not convert the amounts to Canadian dollars before entering them. TurboTax converts the amounts automatically based on the exchange rate you enter.

If you are using the 2021 Online software, you can access your social security income by following these steps:

  1. Select Find (or the magnifying glass icon) from the top right corner.
  2. In the Find window, type Foreign income then select Go.
  3. On the Foreign Income - Summary screen, click on Enter new foreign income
  4. Here you can add the amounts from the slip you'd like to claim then click on Done with foreign income.
  5. Repeat the steps above for each new slip and amount you need to enter.
  6. Select Done with foreign income to save your information.
