Hello. My 17-year-old child earned $8820.74 in part-time work in 2017. After completing their tax return is shows a refund due to CPP overpayment, is this correct?
this would be the first tax return.

Yes, you are only eligible to contribute to CPP from the age of 18 to 65 therefore any CPP premium contributions made prior to your 18th birthday would be refunded via your tax return.

Yes, you are only eligible to contribute to CPP from the age of 18 to 65 therefore any CPP premium contributions made prior to your 18th birthday would be refunded via your tax return.
