How do I claim my RDSP? Do I claim it as an RRSP?

My wife has an RDSP set up for our son in her name.  She does not have any income, how do I claim this RDSP?

Sorry, but contributions to a RDSP are not deductible.  For more info, please see http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/tpcs/rdsp-reei/menu-eng.html

  1. On the first Personal Tax Profile screen, answer Yes to the question "did you have self-employment, rental, investment (bank interest, dividends, stock or bond sales), or other income?"
  2. Select the I received disability income or death benefits checkbox.

You'll enter your T-slip information in the Income section of the interview.

TurboTax transfers this amount to line 125 of your T1 General.
