I am a resident of Canada who just started receiving my US Social Security pension payment. How do I get some tax withheld by CRA to balance out tax owing?

It appears that the US government is not withholding any tax which is my preference. I would rather not have to send in quarterly payments. Is it best to arrange some extra tax be withheld from my Canadian pension income to compensate for the US Social Insurance that has nothing withheld? or is there something else I can do?

It would be best to contact the Canada Revenue Agency directly at 1 800 959 8281.

I had contacted CRA at this number and the rep was not helpful. I expect there are many residents of Canada receiving US Social Security payments and was hoping to find out how others handle their situation.
