I am an online teacher (not due to COVID) who teaches from home. I also did student counseling online in 2021 (due to COVID - usually done in school). Can I claim laptop?

Laptop not normally an allowable expense but added for 2021. I am licensed teacher hired by school district. Part of job is always online (do from home)

Yes, If you were an eligible educator and eligible, you can claim up to $1,000 of eligible supplies expenses.
Teaching supplies like consumable supplies and prescribed durable goods do include
  • laptop, desktop, and tablet computers, provided that none of these items are made available to the eligible educator by their employer for use outside of the classroom
