I contributed to a labour sponsored fund in my wifes name through our spousal rsp. do i claim the credits on my 2017 return or on my wifes 2017 return?

You will be named as the "contributor" on the tax slips issued, and make the claim on your own return. You will specify that this was a "Spousal Contribution" and nothing will be entered on your wife's tax return.

If the first registered holder of the share is an RRSP for a spouse or common-law partner, the RRSP contributor or the annuitant (recipient) can claim this credit for that share.
