I get my pension from the UK paid direct to my Canadian bank account in dollars. Is that what I declare on the CRA tax return?

CRA won’t certify my Canada resident status until I have made a tax return. I will then sort out a refund of UK tax and declare as income to the CR,

Typically, yes you would declare your UK pension that is paid in Canadian dollars on your Canadian income tax return.  It would be best to contact the International Tax Services office to determine your residency status that should be entered on your tax return.  They can be reached at 1 613-940-8495.
