I have entered two cpp amounts one for my wife and one for me but turbotax says I have received a lump sum benefit as part of my cpp income that exceeds the maximum, ?.

To remedy the issue is to ensure that your T4A(P) entries match your T4A(P) slip. 

If you (or your wife) did not receive CPP benefits relating to a lump-sum, ensure that you have selected "no" as the answer to "Do your CPP/QPP benefits, reported in box 20 of your T4A(P) slip, relate to a lump-sum benefit?" on the T4A(P) entry screen.
