Yes, absolutely. You can contribute to your own RRSP until December 31 of the year you turn 71. Since you turn 71 in September 2026, you are still fully eligible to contribute for the 2025 tax year (and even for most of 2026).

2025 Deadline: You have until March 2, 2026, to make a contribution that can be deducted from your 2025 income.

 

The "Final" Deadline: Your absolute last day to put money into your own RRSP will be December 31, 2026. \

 

The most accurate "maximum" isn't a general number—it's specific to your personal history. You can find your RRSP Deduction Limit in three places:

Notice of Assessment (NOA): Look at the paper or PDF the CRA sent you after you filed your 2024 taxes last year. There is a section titled "RRSP Deduction Limit Statement."

 

CRA My Account: If you use the CRA’s online portal, your limit is displayed right on the overview page.
