I'm trying to determine if I have over contributed to my RSP in 2018, what am I supposed to look at? Is it the available contribution room for 2019 on Assessment?

My available contribution room for 2019 is -$500. Does that mean I don't have to worry about it given it's less than the $2000 limit?

Yes, your 2018 Notice tells you your RRSP deduction limit for 2019. You could also access this information at My Account for CRA if you are registered.

The amount -$500 indicates you have over contributed, and cannot deduct anything in the 2019 tax year.
