I've entered my RRSP info for 2019...why hasn't it changed my balance due amount ??

If you have entered your RRSP contributions, but not seeing a change to your balance due amount, there could be a number of reasons for this.

You'll first want to check that your RRSP contribution is actually posting to your tax return. You can easily check this by looking at your Detailed Tax Summary or at the RRSP Summary itself.

A couple of common reasons for RRSPs not showing up on the tax return are

  • You have not entered your RRSP Contribution Limit.
  • You have purchased Spousal RRSPs and entered them on your spouse's return.

Please see this FAQ for more information: Why aren't my RRSP contributions appearing on my tax return?

Another thing to remember is if you are Self-Employed and making CPP contributions on your self-employed earnings, your RRSP contributions will not affect these contributions.
