Is Climate Action Incentive a "tax credit" or a "payment"? Am I supposed to be paid out the full eligible amount? Or is that amount just used against my taxable income?

The Canada Revenu Agency tells us: "The climate action incentive (CAI) payment consists of a basic amount and a 10% supplement for residents of small and rural communities. This payment may reduce your amount payable or increase your refund when you file your income tax and benefit return."

For more information about who can claim it and how much could you receive if eligible, please follow the CRA link below.
