I go with my husband to help him with his cleaning contracts, can I claim some of the income as my income even though he was paid for it.

both of us are self employed as contractors

It is up to the pair of you to decide how to report this income. He is effectively sub-contracting work to you.

Make sure any income you receive is properly invoiced.

I go with my husband to help him with his cleaning contracts, can I claim some of the income as my income even though he was paid for it.

however, he charges gst/qst when he bills the customer, I am not registered, would he have to deduct my part off before sending in his remittances for the sales tax or after?
