Last year my wife paid off her OSAP loan. Does this count as "Repayment of research grants, scholarships or any similar financial assistance?"

If your spouse paid off an OSAP loan, they should receive an Income Tax Receipt that shows the amount of "Interest" paid on this loan. If you have not received this document in the mail, it can be accessed online at https://osap.gov.on.ca/OSAPPortal/en/Contacts/MinistryandPartners/TCONT003506.html.
