My pension contributions are deducted by my employer. Do I need to claim these deductions on my taxes?

Sadly, the answer is No. Deductible RRSP contributions can be used to reduce your tax. However, you can only claim a deduction for the amount you contributed to your pension plan for the year, not the amount your employer had contributed. Employer contributions also result in the pension adjustment, reducing your RRSP contribution capacity for the year.
