My T4 specifies I am exempt from CPP, however I am not exempt of QPP. How can I specify that in the applicaiton?

The exempt is specified in box 28

If you are exempt from CPP entering Box 28 of the T4 slip indicates this on your taxes. By entering Box 17 of the T4 slip it indicates that you are not exempt from QPP as there should be an amount in this box to be entered.

To enter the amount of QPP you should follow the steps given: -

  • First of all, open your tax file for 2021 and click on the "Magnifying Glass" on the upper right side of the screen.
  • Type "T4" and click on "GO"
  • After that, click on "Add T4 for your name", and on the next page enter amount of QPP in "BOX 17"
  • Eventually, click on "Continue" to save all information entered and check all amounts entered on the next page of the summary.

For more information about boxes on the T4 slip please visit the Canada Revenue Agency: -T4 slip: Statement of Remuneration Paid

Hi thanks for your answer.

If I select exempt in cell 28 it does not allow me to click continue when I have a value for box 17 and 26 on the Federal side.  The box 16 is at 0 but the others are not and it does not allow me to continue.

Do I have to force put cell 17 and 26 to 0 and place the QPP amount in the Revelé 1?
