Does turbo tax automatically enter the pension tax credit amount in line 31400 if amounts have been entered from T4A forms other than CPP and OAS? If not, how do I enter?

Once you have entered your T4A slip, line 31400 will automatically calculate your maximum credit ($2,000) based on your entries. Line 31400 derives from line 11500 of your tax return.

For more information on the T4A, see below:

Line 11500 - Other pensions or superannuation

Other pensions and superannuation include income from private pension plans, annuities, Registered Retirement Income Funds (RRIF), and foreign pensions.

TurboTax transfers the following information to line 11500 of your return:

  • box 31 from your T3 slip
  • box 16 from your T4A slip

Depending on your age and the reason you received the amount, the following amounts may also be included on line 11500:

  • box 24 from your T4A slip
  • box 16 or 20 of your T4RIF slip
  • box 19 of your T5 slip

To review and confirm the source amounts of other pensions and superannuation on line 11500:

  1. In the upper-right corner of your screen, select Find
  2. In the Find window, type T-Slips
  3. Select T-Slips from the list, and select Go
