In TurboTax Free, use the Find button to search/select the option for RRSP Profile. Then, from the list that appears, check the first option: Made RRSP contributions during 2017 or the first 60 days of 2018 to record your RRSP contributions. (If any of the other options on the page also apply to you, check them off to have them appear as you proceed.) Then click Continue.
That is not the answer to the question! Is this a shortcoming of the program? Line 208 deductions cannot be made?
Whether you are using TurboTax Online or TurboTax CD/Download (in easy step mode), please find enclosed below the images showing the steps to deduct your RRSP contributions. You will first use the Find function and write RRSP then chose RRSP Profile and GO.
Once on Your RRSP Profile for 2020 screen, be certain to check Made RRSP/SPP contributions you wish to carry forward and deduct in a future year which will allow you to include your RRSP deduction in a future screen as seen below.
NOTE: This last step above is what opens up the RRSP deduction field in future screens.
As you continue through the next screens, you will come to the RRSP/PRPP and SPP Carry Forward screen where you can include your RRSP deduction beside RRSP/PRPP contributions you are deducting for 2020.
The images may vary a little with TurboTax CD/Download but the screen titles are the same.
Thank you for using TurboTax.
