Student living abroad

I am a Canadian citizen who has been studying and living in Portugal since 2015.  I currently have no income but do own an apartment in Portugal (approx. worth CAD$110,000.00).  I have a permanent address in Canada.
Are there any details I should know while filling the taxes (and if i I should fill it)? I have not yet done it for 2015 or 2016.
Thank you for your time

Residency for tax purposes is determined on a case-by-case basis by the Canada Revenue Agency. Here's a link for more information in the guidelines used by CRA in determining residency;

If you have questions about your residency status, contact CRA’s International Tax Dept.
