Tuition tax credits not offsetting total income tax owed?

Tuition credits cannot reduce other amounts due such as Canada Pension Plan contributions due on self-employment earnings. Check the Detailed Tax Summary (Review tab - Bottomline Tax Summary) to determine if the amount owing is for income tax or another amount due.
