You are not eligible for the working income tax benefit if you were enrolled full time as a student for more than 13 weeks in the year. Prior to entering your tuition fees, TurboTax may have calculated the working income tax benefit for you which would increase your refund. Once you entered your tuition fees, this claim would have been removed, therefore, reducing the amount of your refund. For more information, you may want to contact the Canada Revenue Agency at 1 800 959 8281.

But the bigger question is, MUST i report the number of months of full time education, or can I bypass that? It's better if I don't claim at all.
So really the questions become: (1) in order to deduct the tuition, must i also include the number of months, and (2) if my refund is larger without it at all, can I forgo putting the tuition on my return at all?
If you claim your tuition you need to declare the months. As per "can I forgo putting the tuition on my return at all" and claiming the Working Income Tax Benefit is to be discussed with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) by calling 1-800-959-8281 as the words do say it cannot be claimed if you were a full time student...etc.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
