I am unable to enter the RRSP amounts for the different periods i.e. can only enter March-Dec 2016 amount and not enter Jan-Mar 2017 amount

i can only enter one amount for one period - it doesnt allow me to enter BOTH periods?????

When using TurboTax Standard, click on the dropdown menu next to the date of March to Dec 2016 and you should be able to choose Jan to March 2017.
