Where do I enter an official tax receipt from my bank. My deceased husbands RIFF's were rolled over into my RRSP.

To ensure this "rollover" is tax-free and doesn't use up your own RRSP contribution room, you need to report both the income and the offsetting deduction.

Since this is a spousal rollover, you should have two pieces of information: a T4RIF slip (reporting the income) and an RRSP contribution receipt (reporting the transfer).

Go to the Income section and select T4RIF - Statement of income from a Registered Retirement Income Fund.

Enter the amount from the slip (usually in Box 16 or Box 22).

Look for a question or checkbox that asks if this was received due to the death of a spouse. Selecting "Yes" ensures the income is eligible for the pension income amount (if you are 65+) and alerts the system that this is a rollover.

Go to the RRSP section and enter the official receipt from your bank as a new contribution.

In the "Description" or "Type of Contribution" field, look for a checkbox or dropdown labelled "Designated Transfer" or "Amount is a transfer from a RRIF due to death."

By marking it as a transfer, TurboTax will move the amount to Schedule 7 (Line 24640).

Hope this helps!
