Withdrew money from my RESP and paid my son's university. Did not receive anything in mail. How do I know what to put as income when doing his taxes?

What document was I supposed to receive in the mail? We never received a T4A?

You should have received a T4A for that income. Contact your RESP promoter to obtain a copy of this slip.
