You'll claim CCA (depreciation) for equipment, motor vehicles, or buildings used for your business in the self-employment section of TurboTax:
- From the Income section in the menu, select Self-Employment, then Self-Employment Profile
- On the Your Self-employment Profile step, select the checkbox for the type of business income you need to report. The box you check will determine the form you enter business income on. The forms are:
- Professional: T2125 Statement of Professional Activities
- Commission: T2125 Statement of Commission Activities
- Other type of business: T2125 Statement of Business Activities
- Farming: T2042 Statement of Farming Activities
- Fishing: T2121 Statement of Fishing Activities
- Select Continue
- Fill in your business information, income, and expenses on the screens that follow, selecting Continue as you complete each screen
- When you arrive at the Did you have any work-related vehicle expenses? screen, select Yes, then Continue
- On Your Vehicle Expenses Summary, select Add a Vehicle for Business Use
- Enter all applicable information for one vehicle, including the CCA details in the Capital Cost Allowance (CCA) for vehicle section
- Select Continue
- Repeat steps 6–8 for any additional vehicles, entering the CCA details for one vehicle at a time
- On Your Vehicle Expenses Summary, select Done with Vehicles
