What Ontario grants are available to help small businesses during COVID-19?

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada has provided a number of benefits and programs to assist businesses who may be experiencing financial hardship. We’ve collected some of the more popular options available for you here, as well as in-product information for claiming these amounts within TurboTax (if applicable).

Note: The deadline to apply for the Ontario Small Business Support Grant and Ontario’s Main Street Relief Grant is 11:59 PM EST on March 31, 2021.

The Ontario Small Business Support Grant (OSBSG) helps small businesses that have experienced significant business decline due to COVID-19. On March 24, the Government of Ontario announced a second round of support through this grant.

Small businesses that were determined to be eligible for the first round of the OSBSG are automatically entitled to a second payment equal to their first payment. These businesses do not need to reapply. Eligible businesses will receive between $10,000 to $20,000
