My federal return keeps getting rejected due to my AGI, but it is correct.

If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2019 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2019 AGI might not be in the IRS system.   Try using zero instead.

If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year.  The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

Or—-if you filed as a “non-filer” just to get the stimulus check on a 2019 return, try using $1 as the AGI.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

Maybe so----but if it keeps being rejected---try using zero.  You cannot keep doing the same thing and expect different results,

I logged into my IRS account and confirmed that they have my 2019 and that my AGI is correct.

You can get free 2019 tax transcript from the IRS

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

If you filed late last year there is a good chance that the 2019 AGI never was entered into the e-file database. Try using 0 (zero) for the AGI.

If you filed an amended return use the AGI on the first filed tax return.

If it continues to reject then the AGI in the IRS database might be in error. Mail filing is the only option.

Thanks, I just tried that and wait on the results.

I had found online where people have been complaining about that problem since back in April.  One of them kept submitting and it finally took.  The rest said that they called Intuit and was told that if you filed jointly last year, you could not electronically file jointly this year.  So getting mixed information.

I entered zero and it got accepted.  Thanks.

Interesting, even though on the IRS website it shows my AGI.  Thanks again.

It is not a "hack". It is your AGI if you filed late or the IRS did not get it entered in the e-file database soon enough.

Where this does work - it gets stuck in the IRS system until they can verify it's you by sending paper inquiry to your address then going on line to complete additional verification.

Using the 0 last year return was finally refunded in December after filing in Feb. (admit still better then paper submission)

This obviously is something that needs to be looked at by Turbo Tax & IRS!!. Just happened again for 2022. Turbo tax AGI correct; downloaded transcript - says matches what's submitted.

Thank you for your tips. let us know if you've learned anything different from last year.
