2024 Turbotax OAS Error

My TurboTax 2024 indicates I have exceeded the maximum for the year for under 75, $8,618.04. But the amount shown for my slip entered is the same amount, $8,618.04. Please fix this in the next update. It is the correct amount inputted for the slip and not over.

An update is expected by the end of the week, so we'll see if your OAS issue is fixed. If not, I would recommend contacting our phone support team at 1-888-829-8608 as they can look at you file and escalate the issue if needed.

During tax season (from CRA NETFILE opening (mid-February) to the regular filing deadline (April 30), we're available 7 days a week during these hours:

  • 9 AM to midnight ET for English support
  • 9 AM to 9 PM ET for French support

During the rest of the year (May 1 to mid-February), we're available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM ET for English and French support.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Just got the latest update upon launching TurboTax Standard. The OAS error is still there. I have claimed the  amount of $8,618.04 and it still says it is over the maximum which is the same amount. I even edited and re-entered the numbers in the OAS slip.

@marmour07 We still are waiting on CRA to finalize all the forms. More updates will be released as we get updated information from CRA.

The latest update of TurboTax Standard this weekend did NOT correct this incorrect error warning.

@marmour07 You can call our customer support at 1-888-829-8608. They have access to tools we don't have here in Community, like screenshare, and see the issues to escalate into an investigation if needed.

During tax season (from NETFILE opening date to May 1), we're available 7 days a week during these hours:

• 9 AM to midnight ET for English support
• 9 AM to 9 PM ET for French support

During the rest of the year (May 2 to mid February), we're available Monday through Friday 9 AM to 6 PM ET for English and French support.

We are closed on the weekends for now.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

The magic number, that gets rid of the warning, is $8,354.52, in my case anyways. It looks as if that value  is hard coded somewhere, but not linked to the error message.

Obviously an update is needed. The 8,354.52 value is the maximum for the under 75 for 2023.

I just downloaded Turbo Tax this afternoon and I'm having the same problem with the OAS warning that the amount reported $8,618.04 exceeds the expected limit.

Is this warning just a glitch with Turbo Tax software that wouldn't affect e-filing or do we need to wait for an update before e-filing?

Since this seems to have been brought to the attention of Turbo Tax more than a month ago, I hope it gets resolved quickly.

If you are seeing the error saying OAS has exceeded the limit in TurboTax Desktop. You can ignore this warning as it will not affect any return calculations.
