Alternative Minimum Tax Error

I am getting this error.  Not sure why.

You have a current-year non-capital loss on your return, but one or more entries is missing on Form T691: a loss reported on line 12600 but no entry on line 67830; a loss reported on line 12200 but no entry on line 67840; a claim on line 23200 but no entry on line 67820; or a claim on line 22100 but no entry on lines 67820 or 67840. Check your entries and make the necessary corrections.

I also entered IMA fees in Carrying Charges for Line 22100 of Federal Worksheet and it's complaining about that.  All in the same error.

@tdibratt Is it a Warning or an Error?

Warnings need to be addressed but you must tell the software if it Applies to you or Ignore. It's like element the software pointed that needs to be looked at, like a reminder or a post it. If you look, and it's all good and accurate, you just need to select Ignore to remove this from the list.

An Error needs to be fixed, because something is not right.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

@tdibratt If it's a Warning, just proceed the way I explained previously.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Me too

I’ve used this software for years and never run into anything like this

I have the same warnings and error.  I cannot netfile until I determine what is wrong.

I think it's an error.

For me:

  • 12600 was actually positive, not a loss
  • 12200 was zero, again not a loss
  • 22100 had NOTHING to do with films or partnerships.

I'm going to IGNORE this warning. What a waste of time.

@jillbubel @user12312u390213213

If it is a Warning and not an Error, then it can be ignored if you are sure the information you entered is correct.

An Error needs to be fixed, because something is not right, and you won't be able to NETFILE until you fix the problem.

Rather than simply stating that you can ignore the Warning, can you please explain WHY this error is occurring. There appears to be no logical dependency between entering Investment Management Fees on line 22100 and requiring an entry on lines 67280 or 67840 yet the warning implies this. If this is a Turbotax software problem,  say so.

The error does not apply to me, when I apply this answer, the system does not allow me to ignore it and netfile, it stops me from netfiling. There is a glitch in the system and Intuit appears to be ignoring it,  I can not be the only one who can not file via netfile because of this coding error.

A fix would be welcomed as I can not file my return unless I submit a paper copy, which I am reluctant to do. The entire TurboTax software is driven by netfiling.

I am getting the same error and I'm not able to Netfile, can someone from Turbo tax please help with this?

i have the same problem. As well I cannot find the lines mentioned in the review error.  None of these fields are relevant to me.

@Famtaxguy The reason why TurboTax shows warnings is to get your attention to some information in your return because the software is not sure, and, depending on your personal situation, it has no other way of finding out than asking you to have a look at it. This is why you must indicate if this applies to you or ignore.

I am getting the same warning (not error) and it is NOT letting my netfile. This is complete crap. I have done same for this portion of my taxes for years on turbotax and never received a warning of such. This needs to be fixed by Intuit immediately.

@leecurran If it is a Warning and not an Error, then it can be ignored if you are sure the information you entered is correct.
