I put in a ticket a week ago - with proof that Rev Canada on notice of assessment calculated the deductions from Gross Income to arrive at net income was different than Turbo Tax calculations. I uploaded proof and asked for an update. Nothing but crickets. This is a serious mistake as it changes the amount of refund or amount owed for anyone reporting CPP additional amounts in Box 16A.
I expected a better response as these changes came into effect January 01 2024 . Plenty of time to make the change on Turbo Tax end. Not the first mistake I have reported over the years.
Can you please tell us what is the ticket reference number and when did you call in phone support to open this ticket?
With both this information, we will be able to do a follow up on this subject with you.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
Ticket number [phone number removed]8 is the second ticket , the first one was CTO:24c9c4f8-cc96-464c-825b-f2ce0e58318e - which no one can find. My case is apparently linked to INV-1355-9621-5941-1142-656
I have requested a call back from a supervisor twice now under both tickets and did not receive a call. Proof of the mistake was uploaded/ screen shot by the investigative team on March 26 2025. I have provided all information proving that Turbo Tax is calculating net income differently than rev. canada. I need to know this has been fixed , and i would like to know why no one has called me back at [phone number removed] or [phone number removed] (home)
since March 26 2025. The box 16a from T4's is not being treated the same way Rev Canada treats it.
Thank you for the information.
We have been informed there will be an update within the next couple of days about this issue. I will inform you in this thread.
Thank you for your patience and choosing TurboTax.
I would like a small gesture of a free copy of Turbo Tax for 2025 - because I helped you debug the 2024 tax year, uploading documents and screenshots to make your job easier. I spend over 90 minutes on the phone and online - I provided several detailed documents showing the error and where it occurred in the turbo tax worksheets. A small reward would be welcome
is there any update on when turbo tax will be updated to fix this issue??
@allanhouse On your T4, do you have an amount on box 26?
If you entered CPP contributions in boxes 16 or 16A, but you should have an amount of pensionable earnings in box 26. This box is required.
If box 26 on your T4 has zero ($0) in it, just enter zero ($0) as required. If box 26 is blank, enter the amount from your box 14 (up to a max of $73,200).
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
I have the same if not similar problem, I was told to mail in my return, I am told by TurboTax that it is an issue with my T4, after lots of searching I see there is an issue out there. Is there any fix coming?
@AMFBali Boxe 16A is Employees’ second CPP/QPP contributions. This amount should be reported of second CPP contributions deducted from the employee’s additional pensionable earnings, and this amount is showing on line 22215.
T4s were affected by the updates of some forms. We invite you to visit this FAQ article for more details:
How is my T4 slip affected by the CPP/QPP form updates (Schedule 8, Schedule 8QC, and RC381)?
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
If Turbo Tax calculates your refund using the same T4 information that Revenue Canada has and the refund amount differs, this is not a T4 problem , but a calculation error on the TurboTax program
This is not resolved and it has been weeks. This is a Turbo Tax issue. Please provide an update
@stalbertsam Your case is attached to INV-33858. An update in April fixed the issue for many users, but an additional update occured on May 19th that should resolve the issue for the rest of TurboTax Online users. If you aren't seeing the changes, please clear your browser cache (or use a different browser).

I spent 2 hrs on the phone and uploading documentation that proved where the error was in the Turbo Tax program. I was the first person to find the problem. Will I, be compensated with a 2025 tax program for free, for debugging the Turbo Tax 2024 program?
Just as an acknowledgement of my effort and time spent with your experts.
@stalbertsam Unfortunately, we can't give you a free product for 2025, but you can request a refund for your 2024 software from this page: https://turbotax.community.intuit.ca/turbotax-support/en-ca/help-article/taxation/get-refund-turbotax-product/L0GFPCPaC_CA_en_CA
So no refund was offered as I purchased mine early and by the time I filed and showed proof of an error in the TurboTax product the min. refund period passed. So even though they did not fix the problem until May 19 2025, I am not going to be compensated for a less than stellar product.
