Bug report: 4th year I have reported the same startup screen problem.

Standard version, Laptop, Windows 10 & 11, Attached 2nd monitor. Start laptop, Start TurboTax, Move TurboTax window to 2nd monitor,  Close TurboTax, Turn off laptop, Unplug 2nd monitor, Start laptop, Start TurboTax. It displays on location of 2nd monitor and it can not be moved to main display. Solution - check to see if 2nd monitor is attached - if not startup TurboTax on main display - This is what Microsoft Word does.

I have reported this problem now for 4 years.

Have you ensured that your laptop monitor is set as the primary one?

 

When the program is on the 2nd (disconnected) monitor, you can press the Windows Key + P key on your keyboard. Then select "PC Screen Only" from the popup. This should move all open windows to the main screen.

Yes, my laptop is the primary monitor.

Thanks for your suggestion but as a user I should not have to know or use the shortcut.

The problem needs to be fixed.

I have just finished trying your suggestion and it did not behave as you suggested it should.

During tax season (from CRA NETFILE opening (mid-February) to the regular filing deadline (April 30), we're available 7 days a week during these hours:

Thank you for the list of all the ways I can address the problem.

I don't have the problem. I have programmed computer since 1969 and know how to fix it.

Tubotax and its users without the software experience have the problem.

No user should have to be inconvenienced by this issue.

I suggest for the 4th year in a row that it be added to the list of improvements

that need to be done to TurboTax.
