Canadian living in the US NR4

Hello - I am a Canadian citizen living and working in the US for all of 2023. I earned some interest income in Canada on a savings account with a Canadian bank and I received an NR4 (income code 61, exemption code S). I did not have any income besides this for 2023 in Canada and I am filing US taxes. Does receiving the NR4 / the interest income in Canada require me to also file a tax return in Canada for 2023?  I do not believe so. Thank you!

If you are unsure if you need to file a return, you will need to contact the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and confirm it with them.

If you are in Canada or the United States, you can call the CRA at 1-800-959-8281. If you are elsewhere, you can call 613-940-8495. This page has more ways to contact the CRA: Contact the Canada Revenue Agency
